The Importance of Knowing Your Purpose

Updated: Jul 24, 2022

If you've ever found yourself wondering, "Why do I exist?" then this article is for you. We all exist. Recently, there were nearly 8 billion people in the world. Everyone of us exists. If you're breathing, you exist. So existing is no great feat. You do that just by being born through a womb. To exist with purpose, now that's something to talk about. Why is it important to know your purpose? I've got five good reasons why knowing your purpose is important.

Of the nearly 8 billion people in the world, how many of us exist with purpose? If you don't know your purpose, you're just existing; just passing through until your time is up. But if you exist with purpose, well, you're achieving something major.

So here are five reasons why it's important to know your purpose:

#1: It Brings Focus To Your Life

When you know your purpose in life, you know where to focus your time and attention. Being focused keeps you on track, not distracted by other stuff. Focus on your purpose and not other things that seem to distract us from our true calling.

#2: It Gives Your Life Clarity

When you're focused, you have more clarity in your life. You're able to find direction because you're focused, your mind is clear, and all of the unnecessary added weight that sometimes seems to hold us down is gone. Awww! You can breathe with clarity and focus.

#3: It Makes Living Worthwhile

Knowing why you exist, makes your living worthwhile. Now you have a reason to get up in the morning, versus laying in bed in a dark room all day. You're not living in vain. You're not here by accident. You have a reason for being, and it's got you focused, and you're pumped to be in the world.

#4: It Makes Success Possible

With more focus and clarity in your life, it's more likely you'll be successful at what matters to you most. I won't define success here. That's another blog all by itself. Just know that only you can define your success. And you know when you've achieved it. And because you're focused on it, you're more likely to get there.

#5: It Defines Your REAL Contribution In the World

Life is definitely worth living when you know it's a little bit better just because you're in it - and you're living your purpose. Your contribution means something to so many. And it's a high possibility your purpose involves some type of service to others. Living your purpose - now that's REAL living.

Conclusion

The benefits of living a purpose-driven life are clear. Now that you know why a life of purpose is important, imagine living without it. It's hard to imagine it's much of a life at all, isn't it? If you don't know your purpose, it's worth discovering it.

It's time to find your purpose.
